UTF Site Update 01.31.08
If you tried to visit the UTF message board and landed here, then your eyes (or browser) is not playing tricks on you. The UTF message board has been taken off line and the associated database will be deleted. The URL for the message board now redirects to Reverb, the official UTF blog.
If you haven’t visited Reverb before, this is the place where I post random thoughts on entertainment for the most part. I also will post UTF news here until the new version of UTF version 5 is up and available for the public. You can subscribe to any posts here via RSS. If you don’t know what RSS is, look for the orange symbol on the UTF blog, click on that, and subscribe using an RSS reader.

Before Van Halen jumped the shark and added Gary Cherone as the lead singer (after stupidly booting Sammy Hagar out), Cherone was lead singer of classic hair band, Extreme. Other than “More Than Words,” the song “Hole Hearted” was another favorite of mine from the Pornograffitti album.

This is just a quick reminder to say that the UTF message board will be shut down either sometime tonight or tomorrow. All traces of links should be removed from the UTF web site.
On a side note, I have made significant progress for UTF version 5. Most of the content available on UTF version 4 has been added to the new version of the site with the exception of the picture galleries; that’s a task still on my to-do list for UTF. In addition to the galleries, I still need to set up the newsletter. To be honest, I’m still trying to determine if I should continue to publish it. UTF version 5 will be on a new platform that will allow you to subscribe to news and site updates via RSS feed. There may not be a need for the Official UTF Newsletter anymore; I will make that determination over the next couple of weeks.
I still have some additional behind the scenes tasks to complete for UTF version 5, but I’m pleased to say that the site is becoming more of a reality. I’m not going to rush things and am taking my time to make sure that everything is done right. Soon, everyone will be able to see the fruits of my labor. I think you’re going to love the new version; I do!

Queensryche was another example of a band I didn’t initially like, but “Silent Lucidity” changed my mind. Other than “Jet City Woman,” this is my favorite song from the Empire album. Enjoy.
Update: I changed the YouTube link to a live version of the song since the owner of the video turned off the embeddable feature.

When Guns N’ Roses released “Patience,” I was pleasant surprised by its “dialed down” sound. I was use to in your face songs like “Paradise City,” “Sweet Child O Mine,” and of course, “Welcome to the Jungle.” However, the deviation in their sound wasn’t unwelcome.
