Classic Tina Turner Videos
In doing some searching around on YouTube, I found some classic Tina Turner. I’m not a 100% sure, but I think these clips are from the 1988 Live in Rio concert. Just don’t quote me on that. However, if anyone can confirm this clip is from that concert, comment on the blog or shoot me an email (via the Contact DQ link on the blog).
Anyway, Timmy is featured in these clips doing his thing (and doing it well) in the band. Unfortunately, I can’t embed the videos because some people (labels) don’t want you to watch their artist videos anywhere but on their YouTube channel. Therefore, I’m linking up the videos for your viewing pleasure.

In the early days, when I first started getting into rock/metal, I had heard of Bon Jovi but had oddly never been exposed to their music until “I’ll Be There for You” hit MTV. It took a little time for this single to grow on me, but once it did, “I’ll Be There for You” became one of my favorite Bon Jovi singles. Check it out.

The one thing that’s most memorable about Steelheart for me is lead singer, Michael Matijevic’s ability to hit some really high notes. He definitely gave other metal lead singers a run for their money.
“I’ll Never Let You Go” by Steelheart was massive on MTV, receiving a lot of heavy rotation on MTV (when they use to play videos) on their “video block” concept. Check it out.

I avoided female metal acts (cough…Vixen…cough) like the plague because I just didn’t like any of their music. That was true until Lita Ford’s duet with Ozzy Osbourne on “Close My Eyes Forever.” This is one of my favorite power ballads. Enjoy.

Before Great White resurfaced into the headlines with the horrible club fire that killed 100 people, the band made some pretty good rock music. My favorite from them is “Once Bitten, Twice Shy.” Other than their cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You,” this is my favorite song from the group.
